Maybe im a little bias since my grandpa was the famous "Pete" kavanaugh if you werent living under a rock for like 40 years you know him as the meat cutter who didnt even need the scale. On top of that my very first job 17 years ago was cashier and stocker. Ever since the marty and pete passed away and marty jr sold the store i have heard NOTHING BUT NEGATIVE THINGS about the store that was such a big part of my family and i's life since long before i was even born!! Pete would be rolling over in his grave if he could see what the store he spent so much time working at has become and i wouldnt blame him! Hell that little bitty store was like his second home and alot of times his customers saw him before the family did on holidays. Also i never had to go to daycare because Between Carroll's and prodecki's, where my grandma marge kavanaugh work when i was little. I spent my days playing behind the counters while my parents were at work. But those times are long fone, both my granparents have passed on, ive grown up, moved to phoenix, and started a family they wouldve love to meet....but every month or so i have friends back home letting me know how sad carrolls has become! Thank god i have always pictured Carroll's the same as it was 13 years ago when i walked in the store for the last time to show marty and pete my newborn daughter. And i am sorry for all the loyal customers who have to go elsewhere besides the store everyone loved, without pete the butcher who could smile even the saddest customer, and a part of millers falls recent history... It wouldve been better to just close carrolls and let the middle eastern people make it their own crappy store no one likes......at least it wouldve never tarnished OUR carrolls that has died along with the 2 men who mad this store what it was..... Rest in piece marty and pete!!!!
You have to be very careful what you buy, I've gotten outdated and bad items more than once. Some of the staff can often be rude
If you make a purchase with a debit or credit card and that transaction is cancelled for any reason, it could take you up to 4 DAYS to get access to that money again. Had it happen to me on Christmas Eve. He said he cancelled the transaction, only to to find out from my bank that the amount was put on some kind of hold, not cancelled. Now it's going to take 4 days for me to get that money back.
Quaint market in a classic New England town. Alcohol cigs and full deli. Owner operated and a wide selection for a small town market.

Extremely expensive! $4.99 for a gallon of milk! Frozen dinners don't always come out of their freezers frozen and exercise extreme caution if buying their meats or deli items. Also be aware that there is a minimum of $5.00 to use a debit card, so be prepared for that as well.
